Dear Vega ISD Community:
Welcome back to school! This has been such a fun week meeting so many new students and families to Vega ISD while also welcoming back our returning students and families. Our enrollment is up and we are excited to have so many Longhorns and Shorthorns in our district!
There were so many pictures taken on the first day of school. It was a lot of fun greeting our parents and students as they came into the building on the first day of school! Our students have done a really good job of adapting to the state’s new no personal communication device during the school day policy keeping their personal communication devices (cell phones, Smart Watches, etc.) in their bags, backpacks, in their vehicles, or at home.
Even though it’s the first week of school, our high school volleyball teams have begun playing games and will participate at the Dimmitt Tournament over the weekend. Our football team will have their first scrimmage of the season this Friday at West Texas High School. It’s exciting to see our students so involved with their extracurricular activities.
Vega ISD is still accepting transfer applications for this school year. If you know of any families who would be interested in attending an A-Rated school district, please have them visit our website and reach out to our campuses. When you visit the district’s website, it opens up to the transfer landing page where you will find more information about Vega ISD along with the transfer application. Please note that to be eligible to be accepted as a transfer student to Vega ISD, all students must be in good standing with their current school district, have good attendance, and have no discipline issues.
Thank you,
Jerry Adams
Superintendent, Vega ISD
