Dear Vega ISD Community:
We hope you and your family enjoyed the Christmas and New Year’s break and were able to spend time together. We are excited to see our students return to school this week and to begin the Spring semester.
As we enter into the year 2026, it is hard to believe that we have a quarter century behind us. Many of us remember at the turn of the century all of the build up to Y2K and the conspiracy theories of imminent doom as the century rolled over and the impact it might have on our power, electricity, water, and connectivity. In fact some of you or your friends might have stockpiled food, water, and fuel just in case. Many people did.
Over the Christmas break both the Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball teams traveled to Lubbock and competed in the Annual Caprock Tournament. The teams played well and came away with 2-2 records against some tough competition. All of the basketball teams will be in action this week and we wish the junior high and high school teams success this week in their games and tournaments.
The Vega FFA hosted the annual Pancake Supper during the Stratford basketball games on Tuesday. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported our FFA students and enjoyed the pancakes!
