Vega ISD Transfer

Vega ISD has many involvement opportunities and welcomes students and parents to engage in their child's education. The district, along with all three campuses received an A rating. The state assigns a letter rating system from A-F based on STAAR/EOC scores, student progress, CTE programs, SAT/ACT scores and closing achievement gaps. Each district is rated as a whole, while each campus gets an individual rating based on the same criteria. Vega ISD prides itself on small class sizes and a family atmosphere.

The Vega Elementary School tradition of excellence in education has earned our campus an A rating and multiple distinctions from the state.  We are also recognized as an Exemplary High Performing National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.  Our excellent staff provides our students with an exceptional education and fosters home/school connections through PTO, Parent Night, Donuts for Dads, Muffins for Moms, Grandparents Day, Veteran’s Day program/Thanksgiving meal, PE performances, UIL, class parties and field trips.

At Vega Junior High, we have excellent teachers that are instrumental in our campus receiving an A rating from the state along with several distinctions. There are many activities that our students participate in on the junior high campus as well.  Volleyball was recently added to our athletic program, and our coaches work hard at preparing girls to compete in 7th grade. Our 8th graders have additional elective choices such as Ag, Theater, Band, and Choir. The junior high has also been successful in UIL Academic competitions in the last few years. We were district champions in 2021.

Vega High School earned an A-rating with distinctions in ELA/reading, mathematics, social studies, comparative academic growth, postsecondary readiness and comparative closing the gaps. The campus, completed in 2017, includes a new high school education wing, ag shop, remodeled band hall, gymnasium, weight room and remodeled auditorium. Vega HS  has involvement opportunities for all students.  They can participate in FFA, Student Council, band, FCCLA, One Act Play, art, Yearbook, UIL academic teams, football, cross country, volleyball, basketball, powerlifting, track and field, golf teams, tennis and cheer.  Vega High School athletes have qualified at the state level in several of these athletic competitions in recent years.
