If you're considering a transfer, you're not alone. Starting somewhere new can feel overwhelming, but sometimes the best opportunities begin with taking that first step.
At Vega, students find support, friendships, opportunities, and a place to belong. We are currently accepting transfer students for the upcoming school year.

Today we celebrated a special group of 4th graders during our inaugural Counselor’s Character Award Lunch! 💛
These students were recognized for the character they consistently show each day through their kindness, friendship, gratitude, leadership, and the positive impact they have on those around them.
We are so proud of the example these students set and the way they represent our Longhorn family each day! 🤘🖤
This is such a fun tradition our Pre-K has started! 🎨👕 Check out their adorable self-portrait shirts—what a special memory for both kids and parents to treasure! 💖✨ Our Pre-K students have grown and learned so much this year, and we couldn’t be more proud! 🌱📚👏
The Lady Horns wrapped up their state golf run with a 9th place finish. So proud of this group—full of grit, laughter, and the kind of memories that last far beyond the course. ⛳️
Thank you to the Vega ISD School Board for treating our staff to breakfast burritos this morning.
Such a great way to kick off Teacher Appreciation Week and celebrate the incredible people who pour so much into our students every single day!
As you drive by the school, it’s hard to miss… 👀✨
We’ve got a brand new marquee out front!
Big thanks to Boralex for making it happen — we’re so excited to share all the fun, celebrations, and updates with you as you roll through.
Be sure to give it a glance next time you pass by! ❤️
State golf shirts are in! ⛳️🖤💛 Grab your gear and help us show up strong for the Lady Longhorns at state! 🛍️ Store closes Thursday at 10 AM — don’t miss it! 🔗 https://gogandy.com/vega-state-golf-2026
The Lady Horns are STATE BOUND! ⛳️
After two big days of golf, these girls battled it out and finished 3rd at regionals—punching their ticket to state. Proud of their grit, focus, and the way they represent our school.
Next stop: STATE! 🖤💛
Great start to District!
Both the Longhorns and Lady Longhorns are in 2nd place after Day 1. ⛳️🔥

🛞🚚⛓️Careers rolled onto campus yesterday! 🎣🚜🚓
We took learning to the parking lot this week with Careers on Wheels! Pre-K—6th grade students had a blast exploring different careers and getting a close-up look at jobs that keep the world moving. From agriculture and trades to public service and small businesses, our students asked great questions and learned from some incredible professionals.
A huge THANK YOU to the presenters from our community and surrounding areas who came to spend time with our students - we are so grateful for the experience you provided our kids!
We’d also like to thank our local law enforcement partners for starting the day with 9-1-1 education and safety presentations for our students!
