Dear Vega ISD Community:
We hope you are enjoying the summer weather and are able to spend time together as a family during these summer months.
The school building has been busy this summer, even though school has been dismissed! This week is the Area FFA Leadership Camp in Clarendon. Over the past several weeks our students have attended cheerleader camp for junior high and high school and volleyball camp for 3rd grade through 9th grade. This week we are hosting a basketball camp for 2nd grade through 9th grade.
Mr. Newton is providing Autodesk Inventor Training at Vega High School next week to help teach any community member (i.e., students & adults) how to design and draw ag mech projects. Anyone interested in this can visit the Vega FFA Booster Facebook page for more information on how to register.
We are putting together a Vega ISD Wall of Honor to recognize Vega ISD graduates who have served in the military. If you are a veteran or a current member of the armed forces who graduated from Vega ISD or if you know of someone who is, please reach out to Mr. Newton who is heading this up.
Vega ISD is now accepting transfer applications for next school year. If you know of any families who would be interested in attending an A-Rated school district, please have them visit our website and reach out to our campuses. When you visit the district’s website, it opens up to the transfer landing page where you will find more information about Vega ISD along with the transfer application. Please note that to be eligible to be accepted as a transfer student to Vega ISD, all students must be in good standing with their current school district, have good attendance, and have no discipline issues.
Thank you,
Jerry Adams
Superintendent, Vega ISD
