Dear Vega ISD Community:
This has been such a fun week having many of our students back on campus for band, football, volleyball, and cheer two-a-days and practices. We were able to welcome our teachers back this week for staff in-service as everyone is making preparations for our students to return next Tuesday.
A big thank you goes out to our School Board who cooked and provided breakfast for our staff on Wednesday and to our fantastic PTO who provided lunch for our staff on Thursday. We are very grateful for such a supportive community and the tasty meals!
Thanks to everyone who came out to Wednesday’s Meet the Teacher Night and to our Annual Title I Parent Meeting. It was great to see our students picking up their schedules and visiting their classes to meet their teachers! This is always a big highlight to start the school year.
As a reminder, the first day of classes for the upcoming school year will be Tuesday, August 12th. School will begin at 7:40 AM and will be dismissed at 3:54 PM. This will be the first year of the hybrid schedule. The first nine weeks of the school year will be five day weeks (with holidays on the Federal holidays of Labor Day on September 1st and Columbus Day on October 13th). The fourth week in October will mark the beginning of the four day weeks on the hybrid calendar as the district will be closed on Friday, October 24th. A copy of the 2025-26 school calendar is on the district’s webpage.
Vega ISD is now accepting transfer applications for next school year. If you know of any families who would be interested in attending an A-Rated school district, please have them visit our website and reach out to our campuses. When you visit the district’s website, it opens up to the transfer landing page where you will find more information about Vega ISD along with the transfer application. Please note that to be eligible to be accepted as a transfer student to Vega ISD, all students must be in good standing with their current school district, have good attendance, and have no discipline issues.
Thank you,
Jerry Adams
Superintendent, Vega ISD
