🚨 IMPORTANT SAFETY ALERT 🚨 Vega ISD has been made aware of a dangerous TikTok trend where students may insert paperclips or similar objects into Chromebook charging or USB ports to create sparks. This behavior can cause severe damage — and even risk fire or explosion. Today, our principals will be addressing this issue with all students. We’re reinforcing the serious safety risks and reminding them that intentional damage to school-issued devices can lead to disciplinary action and up to $300 in replacement costs. As the school year winds down, please continue talking with your child about using their Chromebook responsibly and the real consequences of dangerous behavior. 🏀🏐 Future Longhorns – Summer Camp Time! 🏐🏀 Vega ISD is hosting Basketball and Volleyball Camps this June for incoming grades 1-9 (basketball) and grades 3-9 (volleyball)! Come learn new skills, build confidence, and have fun with fellow Longhorns! 📍 Basketball Camp June 16-18 Grades 1-5: 9:00–11:00 • 1st–3rd in Old Gym • 4th–5th in New Gym Grades 6-9: 1:00–3:30 Cost: $75 (cash or Venmo preferred) 🎁 Every camper gets a t-shirt AND a basketball to take home! 💸 $25 discount per kid for each additional sibling . 🎭 How will this affect student participation in extracurricular activities? 🎭 Vega ISD encourages all students to continue participating in extracurricular activities! Students will still be expected to attend games, practices, and team gatherings, just like they would on a traditional schedule. Coaches and sponsors will provide specific details for each activity, and we will work to keep schedules as consistent as possible.

📖 Will tutoring or intervention be available for students who need extra help? 📖 Yes! Students can make special arrangements to meet with teachers for tutoring or intervention if needed. Our goal is to ensure every student has the support they need to succeed. Additionally, Junior High and High School students will continue to have Academy time built into their daily schedule, providing extra opportunities for academic support during the school week.
