📚 Will my child have homework on Fridays? 📚 Teachers will assign work as needed, but Fridays will not automatically be homework days. Students may have assignments to complete at home, just as they would on a traditional schedule. It is not our goal for students to spend their day off doing homework. However, just like on a 5-day schedule, if a student is absent or has unfinished work, there may be assignments to complete.

🚌 How will this affect bus schedules? 🚌 Buses will continue to run as usual, but routes will align with the extended school day schedule. Pickup and drop-off times will be adjusted to accommodate the 7:40 AM start time and 3:54 PM release time. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the start of the school year!

📚 Will students fall behind academically with fewer school days? 📚 Vega ISD will maintain the same high expectations for both teachers and students. The quality of instruction will remain a priority, and teachers will continue to provide the support students need to be successful. If a student falls behind, we are confident that our amazing teachers will make arrangements to meet with students on Fridays in small groups, offering the same personalized instruction that we provide in a 5-day week.

On these days, students will not be required to attend school. However, this is a great opportunity for students who may need extra help!
