❄️ What are snow days? Will we have to come to school on those days? ❄️
Snow days are inclement weather days*when school is canceled due to unsafe travel conditions. Just like in previous years, Vega ISD will monitor weather conditions and make decisions accordingly.
We will not automatically have to make up snow days. The school calendar includes built-in instructional time, but if we exceed our allotted bad weather days, we may need to adjust the schedule later in the year.
🚨 Designated makeup days for snow/inclement weather are April 24, May 1, and May 8. If needed, these days will be used to make up for any canceled school days.

📅 What are the purple boxes in November? 📅
The purple days on November 24 and 25 are Professional Development Exchange Days. Vega ISD staff members can work two days during the summer to substitute for these two days in November.
Students WILL NOT have school on these days, and staff who have completed their exchange days will also have the time off.
🖤💛 #4DayWeekFAQs

📅 What do the yellow days on the 2025-26 calendar mean? 📅
On the 2025-26 school calendar, the days marked in **yellow** will continue to be the normal school breaks that we typically have each year. These days will be holidays for both students and staff.
This includes traditional breaks such as:
✔ Thanksgiving Break
✔ Christmas Break
✔ Spring Break
✔ Other scheduled holidays
Be sure to check the calendar for all scheduled breaks and important dates!
