Knowing the impact the band and music had on Mary Claire when she was a student at Vega High School, the decision to step in as the interim band director was a YES!!! Mary Claire, a 2022 VHS graduate, joins the Vega ISD staff this school year playing an integral role in keeping the LONGHORN spirit alive on Friday nights.
Mary Claire would describe herself as helpful, caring and courageous. We believe this describes her perfectly as she steps into her new role at VHS. In the past month she has really enjoyed working with the high school students and teaching them the importance of music. When not working or attending classes at Amarillo College, she enjoys sleeping in, hanging out with friends, learning to crochet, and practicing the piano.
