Longhorn Weekly

Dear Vega ISD Community:

We are in the final two weeks of the school year!  Please check your emails and the school website for the many end-of-year events.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week.  We love our teachers and staff in Vega ISD!  When you see one of our fantastic Vega ISD teachers and staff out and about, be sure to thank them for the great job they do investing in the lives of our students each and every day.  Our School Board kicked off the week by making breakfast burritos for our staff on Monday morning.  Our PTO provided a teacher appreciation lunch on Tuesday.  The administration office provided lunch for the staff on Wednesday and cookies on Thursday.  The week will be topped off by CCF Church providing a staff lunch.

Our FFA took four students to Texas Tech this past weekend to compete in the State Cotton Judging Contest.  Our four tennis regional qualifiers honed up their skills last Friday at the Canyon Regional Qualifier Tennis Tournament.  Both doubles teams played very well against excellent competition and have continued practicing in preparation for the Regional Tennis Tournament this week in Amarillo.  The 5th grade through high school band held their Band Spring Concert on Monday and the Vega FFA awards banquet and new chapter officers were inducted on Tuesday.

Vega ISD is now accepting transfer applications for next school year. If you know of any families who would be interested in attending an A-Rated school district, please have them visit our website and reach out to our campuses. When you visit the district’s website, it opens up to the transfer landing page where you will find more information about Vega ISD along with the transfer application. Please note that to be eligible to be accepted as a transfer student to Vega ISD, all students must be in good standing with their current school district, have good attendance, and have no discipline issues.

Thank you,

Jerry Adams

Superintendent, Vega ISD
