Well today was certainly one for the books; as they say, as the Elementary/Junior High Cafeteria played host to Mrs. Marci Thomas from General Mills. She arrived at approximately 9:30 this morning and began to set up for the taste testing event that was taking place during our lunch service. Every student from Pre-K through 8th grade was able to participate in our taste testing event and cast votes on their favorite from the choices available.
Excitement was in the air in the cafeteria as our students came in for lunch and discovered they were going to be able to help pick some items that will be appearing on next year’s breakfast menu. There were five choices available for our students to taste, with three being a resounding success. The choices were as follows: Pillsbury Chocolate Croissant and Breakfast Scrambler, Strawberry Chex, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Muffins and Trix Muffins. Approximately 98% of our student body participated in this taste test, enjoying the experience of being able to help pick items for next year’s breakfast menu, and also offering some very valuable feedback on other items from past years as well.
Mrs. Thomas was very professional and engaging with the students during this event, making it a pleasant experience for everyone involved. We did discuss the possibility of a second taste testing event next year when we kick off the 2025-26 school year with more items aimed possibly at lunch. All in all, this event today was a huge success! Thank you to Mrs. Marci Thomas for coming, and to the teachers and staff that helped out today including Tonya Martin, Seth Naughton, Sarah Adams, Anna Griffin, and Jamie Duckett. Also a huge thank you to all of our students who joined in the tasting fun!
Now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the results from our taste testing event!
