Vega ISD students put their spelling skills to the test today during the annual campus spelling bee, showcasing focus, perseverance, and an impressive command of vocabulary.
The Junior High Bee, featuring students in grades 3–4, included 15 participants. After a remarkable 25-round competition, the final two spellers — Henry Conrad and Adalynn Faridifar — delivered an unforgettable showdown. The pair went head-to-head for 22 consecutive rounds, demonstrating incredible determination. In the end, Henry prevailed as the Junior Bee Champion, with Adalynn finishing as a strong runner-up.
The Senior Bee, which included students from grades 5–8, welcomed 37 competitors. This division concluded in 8 rounds, with Ryhlee Reeve earning the title of Senior Bee Champion. Reagan Hales claimed an impressive runner-up finish after a strong performance throughout the event.
All four top spellers — Henry Conrad, Adalynn Faridifar, Ryhlee Reeve, and Reagan Hales — will advance to represent Vega ISD at the Oldham County Spelling Bee, set to take place at Vega ISD in January.
Congratulations to all participants for a fantastic day of academic excellence and Longhorn pride!
