Dear Vega ISD Community:
Our students have been doing such a great job showing up at our volleyball and football games.
We appreciate the gameday excitement and positive support from our student section.
Next week will be the Book Fair at the elementary school.
Also next week will be the elementary school’s annual Donuts with Dad event.
We always look forward to our parents coming to the school - this will also be the last day of the Book Fair.
Last week the band attended a marching festival in Stinnett to gain important feedback from judges in preparation for the upcoming UIL Marching Contest. The band has been practicing in the evenings at the football field working on their marching show and doing a great job. Our FFA students participated in the TCFA Feedyard Tech Program at West Texas A&M.
The Varsity Volleyball team has opened up district play 2-0 with wins over West Texas and Highland Park. The JV Volleyball team has also won both of their first two district games and are doing a great job. The 7th and 8th grade football teams both won their games last week and did a great job. Last Friday our football team traveled to Highland Park and played an exciting game but came up short in their final non-district game. This week the football team is on their bye week as they get ready to open up district play next week. Last week the cross country team traveled to Lubbock for the Lubbock Invitational Race. This is always a great course to run since this is where the Regional Cross Country meet is held.
Be sure to visit the district’s webpage and Facebook pages for more information and pictures from these events.
Thank you,
Jerry Adams
Superintendent, Vega ISD
