Our NHS students took time last Friday night to remember September 11, 2001. Before the game, they shared a short remembrance speech honoring the heroes and victims of the attacks on our nation. Throughout the game, students signed up for shifts to hold American flags in their honor. This is what is so special about Vega ISD and so many rural American schools. Our students choosing to take time to remember. Our students honoring our flag. Our students understanding that some moments in history are too important to ever forget. We are proud of our NHS students for making sure that September 11th was remembered and honored at Longhorn Stadium. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🩺🤘 Learning from professionals in the field!

Vega High School alumna Cora Campbell and Jordan Shook, who both work for American Medical Response (AMR), came out on Monday to visit with our nursing students and share all about their jobs and experiences in emergency medical services.

We are so thankful for the opportunity for our students to learn more about healthcare careers and hear firsthand what it’s like to work in the EMS field!

🤘 Safety Drill Reminder

Vega ISD students and staff will participate in our annual bus evacuation drill on Wednesday afternoon. This is a planned practice drill and there is no cause for concern.

Practicing procedures gives our students and staff an opportunity to become familiar with what to do and where to go in the event of an emergency. These drills help everyone practice responding calmly, quickly, and safely.
