TODAY (January 12) is the last day to pay for Amarillo College Dual Credit courses. Students that have not paid at the end of today will be dropped from the course. To pay the tuition, log in to the students AC account online or call Amarillo College Business office.

HS BB Information: The JV girls game on Friday in Panhandle has been canceled. The JV boys will play at 5:00, varsity girls at 6:30 and varsity boys at 8:00. The high school had several presentations/trainings that students rotated through on Monday. Students completed a Stop the Bleed Training, Suicide Awareness class, CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) training and positive police/student interaction class. Thank you to Nurse Cayla, Trooper Paul Weller, Chief Deputy Aaron Price, Sergeant McBride, Trooper Chestnut, Brady Williams, Zack Nethery, and Texas Tech Campus Alliance for Telehealth Resources for providing the trainings.

HS Basketball Update for Tuesday (1/10): The girls will play here vs Highland Park JVG at 5:00 and VG at 6:30. The boys will play at Stratford JVB at 6:00 and VB at 7:30.

Longhorn Fans .... tonight kicks off district for the Lady Longhorns. Come out and support both teams. Boys team will play Memphis. Their district games start January 13. District basketball means that the LIVE radio broadcast kicks back up at 6:30. Both the girls and boys games will be broadcast tonight. Vega ISD CTE Advisory Council hosted its first ever career fair this morning. The fair had 29 different careers with 45 presenters from around the Texas panhandle and a presenter from Colorado. Numerous presenters were former Vega High School graduates. Thank you to our community for always supporting our school and students.

Clarification: The 9th boys will play after Groom’s JH games. The JH is still playing at Boys Ranch: A girls at 5:00 and 8th boys at 6:00.

Basketball Schedule Update: The freshman boys will play at Groom on Thursday (1/5) at 7:00 after the JH games. On Friday (1/6), the JV girls’ game has been cancelled. The JV boys will play at 5:00, varsity girls at 6:30 and varsity boys at 8:00.

8th grade and high school FFA students will have a New Years Eve party following the basketball games on Friday night.
