🚨 IMPORTANT SAFETY ALERT 🚨
Vega ISD has been made aware of a dangerous TikTok trend where students may insert paperclips or similar objects into Chromebook charging or USB ports to create sparks. This behavior can cause severe damage — and even risk fire or explosion.
Today, our principals will be addressing this issue with all students. We’re reinforcing the serious safety risks and reminding them that intentional damage to school-issued devices can lead to disciplinary action and up to $300 in replacement costs.
As the school year winds down, please continue talking with your child about using their Chromebook responsibly and the real consequences of dangerous behavior.
